Get Together Meeting

PDF Print E-mail

The fellows of EngCaBra organized an “Get together” social event on August 19, 2013 at the Technical University of Denmark.

The aim of this event was to bring together researchers from different initial training networks to support collaboration,

identify potential synergies between different networks to ameliorate scientific exchange and transfer of knowledge.

The evening was all about the topic “We are all PhD students but WHAT comes next?” The invited guest speakers

associate prof. Winnie Svendsen from the Technical University of Denmark and postdoctoral research associate

En Te Hwu from the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica in Taiwan gave talks about their career. After the talks there

was a discussion on how one could plan his or her career. During the evening there was plenty of time to exchange ideas

and to network among the attendees of the event.

The event was a huge success, 21 fellows from 11 different initial training networks attended the event.

Experimentarium public event PDF Print E-mail

As part of the dissemination activities of EngCaBra, a public event was organized at the Experimentarium in

Copenhagen (a science communication center to promote the interest of natural science and technology to the

general public) on January 15, 2013.

The event started with an interactive talk with the audience given by Associate Professor Winnie Edith Svendsen,

followed by 1 minute elevator speeches by the fellows about their research work. After the speeches the fellows

presented their work to the audience in a poster session. The posters were made in such a way that they were

easy for the layman to understand.

The event was very successful as the public showed their keen interest in knowing the state-of-the-art in the

research progress of the EngCaBra project. The posters presented at the event are published on the

Experimentarium website, and can be found through the following link:
