Project desciption

Silicon nanowire and nanoribbon biosensors have shown great promise in the detection of biomarkers at very low concentrations. Their high sensitivity makes them ideal candidates for use in early-stage medical diagnostics and further disease monitoring where low amounts of biomarkers need to be detected. Our pluridisciplinary team addresses specifically sensor manufacturing optimization, surface functionalization and microfluidics sample handling. My focus goes to system integration: to hardware and software co-design within a systems engineering perspective. My main objective is to model and deliver a solution that will adhere to current trends in the development of point-of-care medical diagnostics technology.
